I can do it
I’m typing this blog entry with eyes shut, listening to Ben read my words aloud from a scribbled sheet of paper.
I’m certain I’ll make mistakes along the way, but I’m also certain that I’ll be pleasantly surprised by how much I get right.
Therein lies the lesson of trying.

My favorite metaphor for mistakes is playing ping pong. I probably miss the ball as much as hit it, but my friends still love playing the game with me. The more mistakes, the better we get, and yet we have just as much fun as when we first started making the ping pong errors. Hurray for the lessons of trying.
